By using Hifz Musaa'id you agree to the terms below. The short version: use the app respectfully, your subscription auto-renews until you cancel, and the standard store terms (Apple on iOS, Google on Android) also apply.
Hifz Musaa'id is a Quran memorisation companion for iOS and Android, developed and operated by Mulla Shhabbir Aziz Kagalwala (Houston, TX). Use of the app is governed by these terms together with the platform's standard end-user license terms, which we incorporate here by reference:
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) at confirmation of purchase. Prices are in US dollars at the rates above; local pricing in other currencies is set by the store according to its standard conversion rules.
To cancel:
Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep your subscription benefits until the end of the current period.
Free trials are available to first-time subscribers of each tier, one per Apple ID on iOS and one per Google account on Android. If you cancel during a trial, you won't be charged. If you don't cancel, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the regular monthly price.
Refund requests are handled by the store, not by us, because the store takes the payment and pays us afterward.
The Quranic audio recordings in the app are sourced from established public-domain murattal and mujawwad recordings by the named reciters. The Arabic text rendering uses the KFGQPC (King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex) Uthmanic Script font. Both are used within the bounds of their respective licences.
The app's interface, code, and original content are © 2026 Mulla Shhabbir Aziz Kagalwala. All rights reserved.
You agree not to:
The app needs internet access to fetch audio for the first play; after a file is cached, it works offline. The free-tier surahs (Al-Fatihah and Juz 30) are bootstrap-downloaded on first launch so that even your first session works without further network calls. We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the audio servers running, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability — particularly during network outages, scheduled maintenance, or events beyond our control.
The app fetches a small configuration file on launch that includes the minimum supported version. If a backend change makes an old version unsafe to run (for example, a security fix or a breaking API change), the app will show a non-dismissible "Update Required" screen until you install the latest version from the store. We use this sparingly and only when necessary.
The app is provided "as is." It is a practice tool, not a substitute for a qualified teacher of hifz, tajweed, or qira'at. We make no warranty that practising with the app alone will result in any particular memorisation outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be noted in the next app update's release notes on both platforms. Continued use after the changes take effect counts as acceptance.
